If you don’t have ten minutes for yourself each day, you don’t have a life – Tony Robbins, UPW, London
PRIME is Tony’s morning routine which is split into three parts. He usually spends ten minutes on this and this is his “own” time and it sets the course for the day so it must be done every day as he wants to get off to a great start! He normally listens to music while he is doing this exercise (not sure which kind but you could of course use the UPW 2017 playlist but that might excite you a bit too much ;))
1: Breathing
Here Tony is using in ancient Yoga exercise where he sits down in a relaxed state and then exhales quickly through his nose, while shooting his arms straight up above his head and towards the sky. Then he lowers his arms, while he slowly takes a deep inhale via his nose. He does this exercise for around 3 minutes (30 reps with his arms in the air). I would recommend you to just google it to find out exactly what it looks like as it is easier than me trying to explain it :).
2: Show gratitude
Ideally think about three moments you are grateful for and let that feeling enter your body so that you clearly feel it (speaking out loud might be a good idea if you wish and can). This can be done in three steps where the first part focuses on you, the second part focuses on your family or friends (or both) and the third one focuses on others (employees, business partners, clients or just about anyone). Try to smile during this part (ideally during all three) and remember that it doesn’t have to be big things, there are many small things to be grateful for as well.
He has a key point here which he made several times during the seminar – it is impossible to be grateful and fearful at the same time so let’s all be grateful!
3: Three to thrive – envision, see and feel the result!
Think about three things you want to create and then envision the result you will be getting. Focus on this for three minutes and try to get into the state of mind where you would be once you have achieved those results. That feeling will set you off on a great start for your day as you know what you are working towards and you then have that very important emotional connection!
If you want to be successful, you have to be fulfilled and that is about constant growth. You can achieve many things in life and be “successful” but if you are not fulfilled, then what is the point? Constant progress equals happiness and that will take you a long way towards fulfillment hence why I encourage you to do what you enjoy! Always be learning and moving forward with the intention of being (or becoming) an owner and not an operator! When you have done that, you can most likely do what you want to do, when you want to and as much of it as you want and that’s how life is supposed to be!
During the seminar they also spoke about the importance of good health. If you don’t have your health, you have nothing…. I have decided not to go through that part here as we spent quite a limited amount of time on that topic and we are constantly adding useful content to our Health Section on how to live a healthy life so I feel you will find more valuable content related to health there.
